Business Innovation and Incubation Centre (BIIC) of Mahatma Gandhi University is
established in December 2016 to promote the innovation and entrepreneurial culture among
students. BIIC provides administrative, academic, technical and IP support to the innovators
and also industrial exposure in association with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). BIIC
has emerged as a gentle catalyst in translating the academic contributions of University, its
commercialization and also creation of entrepreneurs. The Centre was established with a seed
capital of Rs. 1 Cr. from Govt. of Kerala and is the first of its kind initiated by the state to
promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students.
BIIC aids innovators to make their business ideas and concepts market ready. BIIC has
already supported 121 student start-ups and 17 graduated companies and 24 student and
faculty innovators under the Research Incubation Programme funded by the Kerala Startup
Mission.

an opportunity to experiment and innovate.
IEDC works as the first launch pad for a student’s entrepreneurial journey and
provides them with access to cutting edge technology, world class infrastructure,
high quality mentorship, early risk capital and global exposure. Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Development Centre (IEDC) is a flagship initiative of Kerala Startup Mission to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among the student and academic fraternity in the educational institutions in the State of Kerala.
We at IEDC MGU host various workshops, speaker sessions, competitions to develop skill sets and provide essential resources to
take up entrepreneurship as a career.
Industry Academia Interface Centre (IAIC)
University campus will be the first of its kind in Kerala to build a strong interactive platform connecting Industry, University and the Government by focusing on knowledge transfer,
skill development, trainings, and problem resolution in the real world by aiming the outcome as product/technology developments for societal benefit and economic development. This will have a revolutionary impact on the higher education sector as the state is into exploration of knowledge based economic development. The linkage between Industry–Academia-Government has to be strengthened to provide students with a rich experience of the industry along with academic training so that they can stay tuned themselves with the trending demands of the society and also can avoid the difficulties arising from being ignorant of the recent developments taking place in the industry.
DR. N. Radhakrishnan International Centre For Medical Innovation (NRICMI)
The NRICMI is established at Business Innovation and Incubation Centre (BIIC) of Mahatma
Gandhi University on 24th May 2023 with an aim to develop new medical technologies, treatments,
drugs, and therapies by collaborating with Dr. N.Radhakrishnan Foundation for research on
venous diseases. IEDC works as the first launch pad for a student’s entrepreneurial journey and
provides them with access to cutting edge technology, world class infrastructure,
high quality mentorship, early risk capital and global exposure. Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The center also aims to provide training programs and educational opportunities for healthcare professionals, researchers, and students to enhance skills, disseminate research findings, and cultivate a new generation of innovators in the medical field.
