Business Innovation and Incubation Centre (BIIC) of Mahatma Gandhi University is established in December 2016 to promote the innovation and entrepreneurial culture among students. BIIC provides administrative, academic, technical and IP support to the innovators and also industrial exposure in association with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). BIIC has emerged as a gentle catalyst in translating the academic contributions of University, its commercialization and also creation of entrepreneurs. The Centre was established with a seed capital of Rs. 1 Cr. from Govt. of Kerala and is the first of its kind initiated by the state to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students. BIIC aids innovators to make their business ideas and concepts market ready. BIIC has already supported 121 student start-ups and 17 graduated companies and 24 student and faculty innovators under the Research Incubation Programme funded by the Kerala Startup Mission.
